Privacy Policy
The short version
- BP Diary does not collect, upload or sell any personal data.
- Everything you enter is stored only on your iPhone.
- There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- The camera is used only to estimate your pulse, in real time, on your device. Images are never saved or sent anywhere.
- You can delete all your data at any time from Settings → Delete All Data, or by deleting the app.
1. Who we are
BP Diary (“the app”) is developed and published by Huitong Shijie Technology Co., Ltd. (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how the app handles information. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].
2. Information you enter in the app
To provide its features, the app lets you record the following information:
- Blood pressure readings (systolic, diastolic, pulse), arm, body position, tags and notes
- Heart rate readings, activity and notes
- Blood sugar readings, unit, meal timing and notes
- Medications, dose times and the doses you mark as taken
- Measurement reminders and app preferences such as language, glucose unit and tracking goals
This information is saved only on your device, inside the app's private storage, and is protected by iOS data protection. We do not operate any server that receives it, and we have no way to access it.
If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, iOS may include the app's data in that backup. Backups are handled by Apple under your device settings and Apple's Privacy Policy; we cannot access them.
3. Camera
If you choose to measure your heart rate with the camera, the app asks for camera permission. While measuring, the app turns on the flash and analyzes the brightness of video frames from the rear camera to estimate your pulse. Frames are processed in memory on your device in real time and are never recorded, saved or transmitted. Only the resulting number (beats per minute) is stored if you choose to save it. You can turn off camera access at any time in the iOS Settings app; you can still enter your pulse manually.
4. Notifications
If you set up measurement or medication reminders, the app asks for permission to send notifications. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. No notification content is sent to us or any third party.
5. Exporting and sharing
You can create a PDF report or CSV file of your logs. These files are generated on your device. When you share a file, you choose where it goes (for example email, AirDrop, Files or a messaging app). Once shared, the file is handled by that app or recipient under their own privacy practices.
6. What we do not do
- We do not require an account or ask for your name, email or phone number in the app.
- We do not use analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs.
- We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not use your data for advertising.
- We do not sell or share your personal information.
- The app does not read from or write to Apple Health (HealthKit) and does not connect to Bluetooth devices.
- The app does not access your location, contacts or photos.
7. Services provided by Apple and others
Some features rely on Apple or open other apps:
- App Store and ratings. Downloads, updates and the in-app rating prompt are provided by Apple. Apple may collect information under its own privacy policy, and may share anonymized app statistics with developers if you have allowed this in your device settings.
- External links. Articles link to public sources such as the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association. These open in your browser and are governed by those websites' privacy policies.
- Contacting support. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply to you and delete it when it is no longer needed, unless we are required to keep it by law. Please do not send health information you do not want to share.
8. Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You can remove individual entries in the app, remove everything with Settings → Delete All Data, or delete the app, which removes all of its data from your device.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or California privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, or to object to its processing. Because we do not collect or store your data, you can exercise these rights directly in the app: view and edit your entries, export them as CSV or PDF, or delete them. If you have a request about information you sent us by email, contact us and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
10. Children
BP Diary is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Security
Your journal is stored in the app's private sandbox and protected by iOS Data Protection, which keeps it encrypted until you unlock your device for the first time after it restarts. We recommend using a device passcode and keeping iOS up to date.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information — for example by adding a feature that requires collecting data — we will update this page and change the effective date before the change takes effect, and update the App Store privacy details accordingly.
