The short version: PDF Maker works entirely on your iPhone. We do not collect, store, sell or share your personal data, and your documents, photos and recognized text never leave your device unless you choose to share them.
This Privacy Policy explains how the PDF Maker iOS app (the “App”) and this website, provided by Huitong Shijie Technology Co., Ltd. (“we”, “us”), handle information. By using the App you agree to this policy.
1. Information we do not collect
The App has no account system and does not include any advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software. We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number or other contact details (unless you email us — see Section 6);
- The content of your documents, photos, scans or recognized text;
- Location, contacts, browsing history, device identifiers or advertising identifiers;
- Usage data or diagnostics.
We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we do not sell or share personal information.
2. How the App processes your content
All features run locally on your device:
| Feature | What happens |
|---|---|
| Scan to PDF | Uses Apple’s document camera to capture pages. Images are converted to a PDF on your device. |
| Image to PDF | Photos you pick are copied into the App’s private storage so you can reuse them, then converted on your device. |
| Text to PDF | The text you type or paste is laid out into PDF pages on your device. |
| OCR Text | Text is recognized with Apple’s on-device Vision framework. Images and text are not sent to us or any third party. |
| Merge & Import | PDFs you select or import from Files or other apps are copied into the App’s storage and combined on your device. |
3. Permissions
The App asks for access only when you use a feature that needs it. You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
- Camera — to scan documents and take photos for text recognition.
- Photos (add only) — to save an image to your library when you tap “Save to Album”. The App cannot read your library with this permission.
- Photo picker — choosing photos uses Apple’s system picker; the App only receives the photos you select and does not get access to the rest of your library.
- Files — when you import a PDF, the App receives only the files you pick.
4. Where your files are stored
PDFs and imported photos are stored in the App’s sandboxed storage on your device. PDFs are also visible in the Files app under “On My iPhone › PDF Maker”, so you can manage them there. Like other app data, these files may be included in your iCloud or computer backups according to your own device settings — that is handled by Apple and is not accessible to us. Deleting the App removes its files from your device.
5. Sharing
Your files leave the App only when you choose to share or export them (for example via the iOS share sheet, Mail or AirDrop). Once shared, the receiving app or service’s own privacy policy applies.
6. Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use this only to respond to you, and we delete support emails once they are no longer needed, or sooner on request.
7. Our website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. Our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type and the time of a request) in server logs for security and reliability purposes.
8. Third-party services
The App does not integrate third-party SDKs. It relies on Apple frameworks provided with iOS. Links in the App (such as rating the App or opening this website) are handled by Apple’s App Store and Safari, which are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region).
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or China’s PIPL), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information. Because we do not collect personal data through the App, there is usually nothing for us to provide or delete. If you have emailed us, you can ask us to access or delete that correspondence at any time.
11. Security
Your files are protected by iOS’s app sandbox and data protection features. Keeping your device secure with a passcode and up-to-date software helps protect your documents.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how the App handles information — for example, by adding a new feature that requires it — we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above, and where required we will ask for your consent in the App.
13. Contact
